|Summary||0000232: Kernel Panic error when booting from iso image in Virtual Box OSE|
I use Arch Linux and I have installed Virtual Box OSE 1.5.2
I have configured the virtual machine to use as primary hard disk 4 GB dynamic and mounted the Gobolinux 014 iso image as CD-ROM. I have checked the iso image with md5 and its correct. As RAM I have configured 384 MB for virtual machine use. My total system RAM is 1024 MB.
I have deactivated ACPI in virtual machine
When booting the virtual machine, all I get is this error:

Same kernel panic also occurs on the Windows version of VirtualBox 1.5.4.
Ok, I was able to confirm the problem. The bug comes from the version of syslinux.bin that we use in the LiveCD. I've just compiled a new one, re-mastered the LiveCD and booted fine on VirtualBox OSE.
I'll keep this bug open until we ship a new ISO which fixes that.
If you haven't done so, I suggest you to update the appropriate file in the ISO building environment that's in our servers. (Where is the file? CD-Bootloader-i686.tar.bz2? Remember that /Programs/BuildLiveCD/Current/Data/Packages-Devel-i686 must also be updated.) We'll probably forget about this if we just keep this bug as "green/resolved". My suggestion is to change the file in the server and then "gray/close" this.
Ok, so I'm closing it. I've commited a fix before setting this bug as resolved. For the record, here's the diff:
And here's the commit message:
Uploaded a new isolinux.bin. This new boot loader fixes bug 0000232.

I have just downloaded the iso again from the main server and I am still getting a kernel panic
I dont know what exactly you changed in the server but shouldnt it be ok?
This time I have 1.5.4 version and I downloaded the final 014 Gobolinux not the release candidate.
The ISO in the website is still the one you downloaded the first time. The next release/snapshot will feature the fix.
Resolved. Will wait until a release is made to close the bug.
